PROJECT DESCRIPTION
ACI was awarded the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes of work for the new Ortho Virginia orthopedics facility. With an impressive 77,000 square feet, the facility is located at Watkins Centre in Chesterfield County, Virginia, and is poised to set new standards in orthopedic care. The new facility has nearly 100 exam rooms, four surgical suites, MRI and X-ray equipment and two suites dedicated to pain management which will allow OrthoVirginia to serve a wider range of patients throughout Central VA.
The mechanical systems included three packaged rooftop units (RTUs), four split systems, ninety-three variable air volume (VAV) units, and six fan coil units (FCUs) to provide heating, cooling, and ventilation throughout the facility. Air distribution was supported by 762 grilles, registers, and diffusers. The plumbing scope included the installation of 155 plumbing fixtures. The utilization of prefabricated components from multiple trades enabled Atlantic to meet milestone dates while ensuring that on-site, stick-built construction remains on schedule.
This project was completed April 2024.
